"Welcome to Emory Valley Center"

Our Mission: To enhance the lives of children, adults and families in an environment that promotes independence, dignity and respect.

Emory Valley Center, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit agency, has been serving children and adults with disabilities in the East Tennessee area for over 60 years.

Our History

1955: A group of Oak Ridge and Clinton parents, wanting a better world for their children with disabilities, chartered the Oak Ridge Council for Retarded Children (ORCRC) and started a school for intellectually disabled children in a metal barracks building donated by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC).
