Community Participation

Counties Served with this program include: Anderson, Campbell, Knox, Morgan, Roane and Scott

Community Participation services coordinate and/or provide support for active participation in valued  community opportunities.  These opportunities build on the person’s interests, preferences, gifts, and strengths while supporting their goals for community involvement.

Individuals engage in one or more community settings and activities that align with their interests. These services are designed to support meaningful involvement in community life by fostering friendships, social connections, and shared experiences with others who have similar interests and goals. The focus is on maximizing inclusion, independence, and personal fulfillment through active participation.

These services assist people with active and positive participation in a broad range of community settings encouraging them to engage with the community.  People will enjoy:

A variety of valued, age-appropriate social roles and relationships

Building a support system

Increased independence

Meaningful community integration and inclusion

Build connections within his/her local community

Community Participation  services traditionally take place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Transportation to and from the program is coordinated by designated staff from Emory Valley Center.
