Community Participation
Counties Served with this program include: Anderson, Campbell, Knox, Morgan, Roane and ScottCommunity Participation services coordinate and/or provide support for active participation in valued community opportunities. These opportunities build on the person’s interests, preferences, gifts, and strengths while supporting their goals for community involvement.
Individuals engage in one or more community settings and activities that align with their interests. These services are designed to support meaningful involvement in community life by fostering friendships, social connections, and shared experiences with others who have similar interests and goals. The focus is on maximizing inclusion, independence, and personal fulfillment through active participation.
These services assist people with active and positive participation in a broad range of community settings encouraging them to engage with the community. People will enjoy:
A variety of valued, age-appropriate social roles and relationships
Building a support system
Increased independence
Meaningful community integration and inclusion
Build connections within his/her local community
Community Participation services traditionally take place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Transportation to and from the program is coordinated by designated staff from Emory Valley Center.
