Workforce Development is a WIN/WIN Relationship for the Employer and the Employee!
Does your organization need to hire a dependable employee?
Emory Valley Center, a non-profit agency assisting people with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities throughout Anderson, Morgan and Knox Counties, has provided employment services since 1975 to the people we support.
When you participate as a Supported Employer:
YOU GAIN…a dependable, hard worker; a loyal employee with low absenteeism; a quality employee striving to excel who values their job; and a job coach for the person you hire
YOU PROVIDE..the opportunity for a person who WANTS to work while building a person’s sense of accomplishment and increasing their self-worth.
SOME BENEFITS…We can save you search time and money; provide employee training, supervision and ongoing support as required at no cost to you; all job duties will be performed in accordance with your worksite and quality standards.
No Additional Costs to You Emory Valley Center covers the cost of the job coach. Tax incentives could also be available…many times we can help employers apply for tax credits if the person hired has never been employed and is successful on their job in accordance with the guidelines established by the federal government. One of the most important transition periods in life is finishing high school and moving into the adult world. In order to be successful in this transition, students will need to be prepared to understand the expectations of working in the community. In partnership with local school systems, Emory Valley Center has a program we are implementing in Anderson, Campbell, Knox, Morgan, Roane and Scott counties that includes:
- Job Exploration Counseling
- Work Place Readiness
- Post-Secondary Enrollment Assistance

*The Work Opportunity Tax Credit The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a Federal tax credit incentive that the U.S. Government provides to private-sector businesses for hiring individuals from nine target groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment. The main objective of this program is to enable the targeted employees to gradually move from economic dependency into self-sufficiency as they earn a steady income and become contributing taxpayers, while the participating employers are compensated by being able to reduce their federal income tax liability. WOTC joins other workforce programs that help incentivize workplace diversity and facilitate access to good jobs for American workers.
