Registration is now open for the 2026 Emory Valley Center Dragon Boat Race. This exciting community event will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, bringing together teams, sponsors, and supporters for a day of fun, teamwork, and purpose.

The Dragon Boat Race serves as a vital fundraiser supporting Emory Valley Center’s mission to empower children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Proceeds from the event help ensure access to essential programs and services that promote independence, inclusion, and quality of life.

Participants will race in authentic dragon boats, with each team made up of 10 paddlers, a drummer, and a trained steersperson provided by event coordinators. Open to all skill levels, dragon boat racing emphasizes teamwork, coordination, and community spirit—making it a perfect opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and groups to come together for a meaningful cause.

Teams will have the opportunity to participate in a practice session prior to race day, and each team is guaranteed multiple heats during the competition. In addition to the on-water excitement,

Quick Facts

Each team needs 11 members (10 rowers and 1 drummer) Minimum team is 8.

Teams need to designate a team captain to assist with waivers. Their responsibility is to make sure that each member of the team has completed their waiver. Individuals can not participate without completed forms.
